Christmas in June

Kinda weird one, but it was Christmas last weekend.

Seriously, they say all the best ideas are born in the pub and this is a classic example! Since it feels like Christmas now, due to the dark nights, chesnut sellers on the street, and the cold, it seemed like a good excuse to spend a weekend in the snow and have a "fake" Christmas day.

So a group of us headed up to Bright, 4 hours north of Melbourne to check it out! An entertaining 4-hour car journey on Friday night was made more painful by the poor performance of John's AFL team, getting beaten again by the second bottom in the leage!

After a good Friday night, with absolutely no games of sardines much to Emmas disappointment, we went in search of a turkey on Saturday, sneaking in a couple of beers at the local pub! OK, so its harder than you would think to find a turkey in June, so we made do with a turkey roll! Kris Kringle was next, with some interesting pressies for everyone, made funnier by the bottles of champagne! Its amazing wot u can get for 2 bucks these days. The Christmas dinner turned out perfectly and amazingly in time, leaving us all totally stuffed, but still ready to hit Bright.

The task of getting ur pic taken with a bogan was met head on by everyone, with Ash asking for a pic of me, as apparantley I'm a bogan now I have a North Melbourne Kangaroos scarff. How does that work?? Champers all round at midnight for Stephs birthday and the bogan challenge was completed successfully!

Sunday was spent driving around up the mountain, checking out the snow and iciles. Canny believe there is snow in Oz, was weird! Went home via Beechworth, which is another sleepy country town, with not the best choice of pubs! I'm now happy I'm living in the city!!!

This weekend, managed to fit in a visit to Discover the human body exhibiton - not good for me as I can't even watch Casualty without feeling sick. Check it out.. www.humanbody2007.com/

The All Blacks were in town playing the Australian Wallabies, and I've never seen such a comeback by the Ozzies! Haven't heard the end of it. Thought the ABs were meant to be the best in the world....??
